Aloha!
My name is Tracie Deardorff. I have been teaching for 9 years and currently teach the 4th grade at Waianae Elementary. I love reading with my students and discussing books with them. In my free time I enjoy being at the beach and going scuba diving with my husband.

I'm looking forward to our summer book club!
Book Club
The Waianae Elementary Book Club will be open for 5th and 6th graders. In this class, through teacher direction, students will engage together in a novel. Using an online video medium, we will meet together to read and discuss. Students will be given tasks both independently and collaboratively that allow them to extend their depth of knowledge in the reading material by competing jobs and assignments pertaining to the chapters read. Using the program, StoryBoardThat, students will create a graphic novel based on the book discussed in the club as a culminating summer project.
Class Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
